The authors received a small honorarium to support the delivery of research with the expressed aim of focusing on an under researched area of Human Resource Development (HRD) strategies and practices in the non-profit and voluntary (NPV) sector. The aims were to:
- explore how the changing landscape for contract funding influences the strategic direction and development of the organization and consequently, how this influences the priorities placed on the development of human resources;
- explore the HRD strategies of NPOs, specifically how they are developing the skills of their workforce, and identify the challenges and barriers faced in addressing skill gaps; and
- examine the outcomes of HRD strategies, specifically how the loyalty and commitment of the workforce is affected.
This report outlines the teams findings and outputs including plans for further publication.
